SOUTHERN GOVERNORS FORM INTEROPERABILITY TASK FORCE http://www.southerngovernors.org/ Comments and Recommendations by Interested Parties Invited The Southern Governors’ Association (SGA) has announced the establishment of an Interoperability Task Force (Task Force) to explore options to achieve public safety communications interoperability throughout the Southern region. The Task Force was formed as a result of discussions among member governors attending SGA’s business meeting, held in conjunction with the National Governors Association recent annual winter meeting in Washington, DC. As part of the Task Force process, SGA Chairman Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour is inviting interested parties -- including, but not limited to, representatives from the public safety and telecommunications communities -- to share their expertise and submit recommendations to best achieve public safety communications interoperability. Parties interested in the Interoperability Task Force must notify SGA of their intent to participate by sending an email to sga@sso.org no later than close of business on Friday, March 9, 2007. For additional information about the Task Force process, contact Diane Duff, Executive Director, Southern Governors’ Association, 202-624-5897, or via email at sga@sso.org.
