Washington State DOT has begun physical 800 MHz Rebanding as of 5/1/2007 for Wave # 1, Stage #1 in the Southwest & South Central Regions( Yakima & Vancouver, Wash.) At this time only Infrastructure for 5 Sites, later Subscriber reprogramming. WSDOT agreed to cooperate in Wave #1 with Region 35 ( Oregon) Rebanding to help Sprint/Nextel even though WSDOT is scheduled in Wave # 4, to clear the Columbia River area's that might reach into Oregon Rebanding areas, and vice-versa. WSDOT is not doing Wave # 1, Stage 2 (NPSPAC) until they are involved later in Wave # 4 Rebanding.
