Coweta County has been awarded a Georgia homeland security grant of $918,245 for the new public safety radio system intended to enhance "interoperable communications," according to Coweta Emergency Management Director Jay Jones. Jones, who appeared before the Coweta County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night for the official grant announcement, said the grant will be used to help pay for the new 700 MHz "trunk" radio system, Jones said. ...
